I knew something was off when I saw the thumbnail of this image. It’s a Ferrari kit based on an old Alfa Duetto! Would probably prefer it as an Alfa.

Was this one of the stunt cars from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off ?

I wish the new California put style first like the original did. Something pretty as its primary concern that sounded amazing but wasn’t necessarily all that fast. IT would be perfect for its target audience.

Still prettier than, at least, 85% of the cars we see on the road any given day.

I’m fine that it’s a replica, though it would be worth more and better to drive as a good Duetto. Too bad about the poser license plate though.

The movie cars were built out of old Mustangs actually.

Really? I always just assumed there was a C3 Corvette under there like in Miami Vice. I’ve learned something new today!

Kind of. They made a bunch of them because that’s how movies work. The hero cars for all the close shots were based off Mustangs. Oddly, the ones they bashed and slid around were based on Corvettes. You can spot the different windshields through the movie.

Except for the one in the introductory garage scene, apparently that one was actually legit.
